Tropical Wave Still No Threat to U.S.

The tropical wave we have been monitoring now has less chance of development. Its interaction with land and wind shear from an upper low are minimizing its chance of strengthening. The main impact will be locally heavy rain to a portion of the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The disorganized area of showers and storms will continue its west-northwest movement. The trough coming off the East coast will keep it from impacting the U.S.
