Humberto Likely to Strengthen as it Heads Out into the Atlantic

Humberto is still a tropical storm with 60 mph winds and is expected to become a hurricane by Monday. The storm is moving away from the Bahamas but they will still see showers and gusty winds today. Dangerous rip currents and high surf will impact the U.S. east coast the next few days.

Humberto is headed out into the Atlantic. As it nears Bermuda on Thursday, it may strengthen into a category 2 hurricane. Interests in this area should closely monitor the progress of the storm.

We are still watching a tropical wave in the Atlantic. Development doesn’t look likely over the next 2 days, but it will enter a more favorable environment by the middle of the week. It could become a tropical depression by the end of the work week.
