Beryl has now dissipated and the rest of the tropics remain quiet. Water temperatures in the Gulf are warming up but eastern Atlantic sea surface temperatures remain cooler than average. Strong wind shear in the western Atlantic and Caribbean keep any tropical waves from organizing as they race off to the west. Any tropical formation looks unlikely for the next several days as wind shear remains strong in development areas.
