There are now two areas of low pressure being watched by the National Hurricane Center for possible development in the Atlantic. Neither of which pose any threat to the United States.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fay will have a small chance to reorganize within the next few days. This is a small window of time,before conditions likely become too hostile for redevelopment over the weekend. If it reforms, the storm would likely remain out-to-sea over the open Atlantic.

An area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave off the coast of Africa has shown more potential for development. The NHC has now given the spot a medium (40%) chance of forming within the next seven days.

The Cabo Verde Islands will be monitoring the progression of this disturbance as it potentially becomes a tropical depression or storm by the weekend. This would bring heavy rain and gusty winds to the islands.
