Area of Disorganized Showers & Storms in the Atlantic

An upper low and trough are generating an area of disorganized showers and storms in the central Atlantic. It sits several hundred miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. The low will head northwest in the open Atlantic with minimal chance of developing before being absorbed into a frontal system midweek.

Two Weeks To Go In The 2019 Hurricane Season

Almost there! The 2019 hurricane season will officially come to a close on November 30. As is usually the case, the month of November has been extremely quiet; and there shouldn’t be much happening over the next couple of weeks.

It’s been a very active season with 17 named storms in the books – 6 of which became hurricanes. We’ll have a full recap, discussing all of the storms in the Atlantic basin this year, posted on the last day of the season.
