Tropical Storm Edouard brought a staggering amount of rain to Southeast Texas, with up to 20″ of rain in some areas.

The heaviest rain landed in Tyler and Hardin Counties, which prompted flash flooding Wednesday morning.

Heavy rain and flash flooding remains possible through this evening as now Tropical Depression Edouard slowly moves inland. Flood Watch through 7 PM.

Edouard was a very small storm so the damage footprint is not widespread, with significantly lower rainfall amounts for Houston and areas just west of the storm’s path.

About 70,000 customers are without power across Texas and Louisiana following landfall near Johnson Bayou, LA on Tuesday.

Edouard has been downgraded to a tropical depression with 35 mph winds and continues to crawl NNW at 5 mph.
