Hurricane Ernesto developed just north of Puerto Rico this morning.

Ernesto is currently forecast to strengthen into a major hurricane as it tracks north this week. A mix of dry air and wind shear ahead of Ernesto is still casting some uncertainty with the strength forecast.

Weather models continue to bring Hurricane Ernesto near or over Bermuda as we enter the weekend. Impacts would vary substantially depending on Ernesto’s ultimate path and strength. A hurricane watch has been issued for the island.
