Tropical Wave Set To Bring Beneficial Rain To Parts Of Florida This Weekend

Hurricane season is still about a month away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t see weak systems form earlier in the year. That being said, tropical development is unlikely with the open wave heading toward South Florida this weekend.

On Friday afternoon, disorganized showers & storms associated with that disturbance were present over the Bahamas. We expect this activity to find its way to Central & South Florida this weekend before being absorbed by our next front and ushered into the western Atlantic. All this is actually good news, for areas continuing to deal with springtime drought problems.

Scattered downpours can be expected across parts of Florida this weekend. Rainfall will be somewhat hit or miss, but areas that get picked on could easily see 1-2″.
